My wife and I recently got married in the area, and stayed at the Kensington. We were just having a small, low-key ceremony with immediate family, and so weren't expecting any special treatment. Once the front desk found out our reason for staying, every receptionist greeted us with a "congratulations!" Whenever we passed through the lobby, and were all very friendly and accommodating. 2 star hotel at best. When you enter the hotel, the lobby is probably the best thing about the place, then you take the tiny elevator up to your floor and enter the hallway with 6.5 feet ceilings making a 6 foot tall person feel like the walls are closing in. Enter your room, and you can tell it hasn't been updated since the early 2000s. The wear and tear in the room is so evident, they try to cover it up with some cheap wallpaper and add layers of paint. Disappointed in our stay 2 star hotel at best, limited accommodation possibilities. Room is dated, furniture is old, ceilings are low, bath tub is claustrophobic The pool is ok, temperature is not warm as other reviews mention- there isn’t a bathroom/change room in the pool area. We have been staying at the Kensington for the past 4 years when visiting our Wolverine. I cannot say enough about their service, from checking in with champagne to aiding our family when our Wolverine was ill (restaurant was amazing in having soup and meals ready for us). The rooms are clean and well kept. The swimming pool is to due for , especially if you prefer warmer water temps.
