This hotel was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and acted like every question or request was a burden. Checking in felt like I was interrupting their day rather than being welcomed as a paying guest. The attitude from the employees was unprofessional and disrespectful, with zero effort made to provide basic hospitality. For a place that charges premium prices, the service was shockingly bad. Beautifully designed hotel. The woodwork throughout is really unique. The staff is extremely friendly, and the location is so convenient. We had a gorgeous bay view.
We have had the pleasure of staying at the Jay three times this year, one of which was our wedding weekend. We got ready in the beautiful suites, held our private vows on the third floor terrace, and did our bridal party portraits on the second floor. Everyone raved about the ambiance, decor, and service throughout the stay. The Jay Autograph Hotel has a funky design, reminiscent of the 1970s. It is situated in the Financial District. Conveniently located next to many restaurants, shops, and attractions, it was a prime area to stay during our two nights in San Francisco! Although the hotel was renovated two years prior, it could use a refresh (especially the removal of the worn out carpet). Cleaning could have been a little better.
