A SAD PRESENTATION OF A CITY!!!!! Once awesome now an eye sore !
It was my first time, parking was great, it had security and the band was awesome. It was crowded but it was New Year Eve. Didn't like the smoking but other than that I had an awesome time with my family. Planning on coming again.
My cousin was in town for the New Year's weekend. So we made a stop at Mavericks on Thursday night. Had a great time with the out of town crowd visiting Jacksonville for the Tax Slayers Bowl game and local college kids. Decided to stop by on Saturday for the fireworks on New Year's Eve after the Tax Slayers Bowl concert held on Forsyth/Ocean Street a couple of blocks away. It is dirty and boring! Needs a lot of improvement !!!
Nye was a good time! Spent majority of the time in the Irish pub. Had a great group of people enjoying the band that was playing, which were energetic and fun! The fireworks was a hit! Absolutely loved the show! It quieted down soon after the show but still maintained a good croud. I didn't see anyone acting like fools and that was refreshing! I hope I can have the same good experience when I go again... yes I will go there again!
Loved it, parking was hard to find but chalk that up to all the people in town for the bowl game and being so close to the New Year. Fire work best seen to date.

I was at the Landing Friday night for the UK pep rally the night before the TaxSlayer Bowl. Great potential venue and atmosphere for the fans but what a huge missed opportunity to show off what should be a better facility in the Landing. Most businesses were closed and I heard comments from many visitors about how it should be a great place but were stumped by how ill-prepared the place was.
