Haven't been in many years since we moved away from Monterey but my fondest memory was going to Casa de Restaurant , which at that time I believe it was called Casa de Coffee , and after we were seated a gentleman would come up and ask if anyone would like coffee , if so , he'd take your cup which was sitting upside down on it's saucer and with the flick of his wrist , the cup would go up in the air a bit , flip over and be would catch it with the saucer and pour your coffee ... A must stop when ever we travel through the 152. My kids enjoy it and even I as an adult love to stop by. I've taken friends there for their first time and all have said it was a beautiful place.

Sarah is an amazing waitress! Food is great and we have always had great service when we are there. Had a bad experience with a new waitress but as soon as Sarah took over it was perfect.
Charlie made the wine tasting experience the best! His stories of his younger days & his personality is exactly what I loved most. Pomegranate, Raspberry, Plum & Blackberry wines were so good! Stopped for ice cream too & that was delicious!

Weekend getaway, did some wine tasting and the person at the bar was very informative about the wine. I love sweet wine so bought the plum wine and pomegranate wine they were so good and reasonably priced. Hubby bought a bag of taffy $7. I found the prices to be very reasonable.
We always stop for a sandwich at the deli, and coffee or ice cream from the candy shop, on the way to Monterey, from the central Valley. The kids really enjoy it, the train ride and carousel.
