terrible experience. i had the hearth doctor come out to do a routine cleaning of a linear fireplace. we wanted a more red flame than the blue see through flame we were getting. that was the only issue we had before they came out. after they left the fireplace started creaking, there was bubbling of the paint above the fire place, and there was cracking in the tile of the fireplace. they offered to come back to try to figure out what was wrong and we scheduled a 3 hour window for them to show up during the work day between 2... read more

Save your money and go to a reputable company. They did not install our fireplace until 3 months after they said they would, they lost the bricks and forgot to order parts. The dimensions were off and the paint was done poorly. It's been 3 years and we had to have the gas company repair the line because of leaks. $12k for the entire fireplace remodel and we still had to get it repaired. The customer service was terrible. Worst Company I have dealt with in a long time. After 2 appointments and a failure to show up, I got yelled at on the phone for not paying a bill I never received for a service that was never rendered. I was told they had too many other clients and they did not care about my issues.

They came out to inspect my logs and charged me $175.00. Told me they needed to replace the gas line, which they did, but said everything else was in working order. Once I has the propane delivered by another company, the other company explained the pilot light and air sensor wasn't properly cleaned out which should have been done by The Hearth Doctor. Just spoke with the Hearth Doc on the phone. I was asking for general information and he took his time and made sure I knew about the products that I asking about. He knew that I wasnt buying a think and still went out of his way. This is a true asset! We need more people and companies like this! Thanks alot!

I just had my logs service. The pilot light replaced and cleaned logs 82.00 for light 195.00 labor less than 45 minutes. You tell me what's wrong with that picture.

I called the Hearth Doctor based on a friends suggestion. I was having issues with my fireplace and he said they would come out and check it and because it was a sealed unit he charged a standard charge of $155. After arrival and inspection he discovered it was the wrong adapter and said he would need to order a part for it to work with LP gas and would also need a thorough cleaning because of the build up. No show on appointment date, said he thought I didn't want him to come out when we talked on the phone. I had called him a couple of weeks earlier to make an appointment, and of course had taken that day off work. When he did come several days later, he worked quickly by himself cleaning the chimney. He spent lots of time and cleaned up everything well. Afterwards he told me about potential future problems, and what he recommended...very expensive.
