I got a AARP quote for home and auto from them that they guranteed in writing. Then, when I tried to pay for the policies, they uped the price. What a scam! They also advertised some sort of travel bag if a person gets a qoute. I'll bet that doesn't come. SO I DID WHAT THE RESPONSE ASKE ME TO DO. THEY TOOK ALL MY INFO. GAVE ME A QUOTE. THEN WHEN I WENT TO PAY THEY UPED THE PRICE. THEY SAID I HAD A CLAIM 4 YEARS AGO. THEY KNEW THAT BEFORE THEY GAVE ME THE FIRST QUOTE! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
Was told on 4/8/26 that no more documentation was needed for my claim. Received a notice later that more documentation was needed. When I called on 4/9/26, the rep had a hard time identifying what The Hartford still needs from me/my provider. After telling the rep, repeatedly, that Kaiser Permanente will not accept their FMLA form, The Hartford emailed me, per my request, what I need to have my provider complete in order to close my claim. They should be called "The Heartless". My father has a progressive autoimmune disease and there is literally nobody but me that can help take care of him and get him to his appointments at a specialist 2 hours away. Does the Hartford care? No. They have denied every single claim I have filed because the paper work is not filled out EXACTLY how they want it. Dishonest tactics. As small business owner, extremely dissatisfied with Hartford. They will quote you one price, charge you a premium, lock you into a year long insurance and not tell you. Do not work with Hartford!
Switched to a different auto insurance carrier, sent in the required paperwork they asked for to cancel the policy and they lost the documents! They scolded ME for not submitting them electronically. Still trying to cancel the policy, and they still send bills to me for the policy. Hartford is garbage!
