Nice but limited parking. Rooms are colonial Virginia in decor. It was quiet and comfortable. Nice bathroom.
Disappointed. Our last stay was really good, but this time, the bed was uncomfortable and the room service was subpar. We ordered breakfast, which was average and in a lot of individual packaging for every item and delivered in a bag. We asked the person who delivered the bag if the gratuity was already added to the bill and she said yes, but that was for the hotel. We expected more for the price and for a 4 star hotel.

This is a wonderful grand hotel with much nostalgia. Everything about it exudes class right down to the background music in the lobby. The staff are wonderful and the cleanliness is outstanding. The beds are possible the most comfortable I've ever experienced. We did not have time to use the wonderful pool or to take advantage of the spa, but we would certainly like to in the future. The hotel is within walking distance of all that Old Town Winchester has to offer. We look forward to a return visit.
We had a great stay. We were heading south and picked Winchester as a good stopping point. Winchester is a very nice colonial town and we loved our stay at the GW. Very clean room. The staff was very attentive. We will be back!
