Fifteen years later, I still experience flashbacks from the trauma inflicted on me at The Geelong Clinic. In 2011, my father paid $600 a night for my care following a suicide attempt. On my final day, while packing to leave, Dr. Ajeet Singh stormed into my room and aggressively yelled at me, falsely accusing me of complaining about the service. The rooms are old and falling apart. Was in a new room and made to move with no notice to the old part of this private hospital because of managements choice to save money on employing staff rather than the patients needs coming first. It was distressing and stressful to all patients forced to move. The state of the majority of the hospital is an absolute nightmare and considering this is a private hospital that costs over $1900 a night to stay in the conditions are disgusting and appalling. The Geelong Clinic is a vital, paramount and absolute necessary service in Geelong . It offers excellent service and if this were to be compromised or closed down clients would have nowhere safe to go.

I had a disappointing experience with the Geelong clinic. Most psychiatrists, nurses, doctors, and facilitators are excellent. The real issue is poor interdepartmental communication and what seems like cost-cutting at the expense of patient care. After leaving Geelong, I discovered a prescribed medication requiring a psychiatrist’s script hadn’t been returned.
