The French Pantry has been a Jacksonville favorite for decades, and it’s easy to understand why. What started as a small bakery has become one of the city’s most beloved lunch spots, and they’ve clearly earned that reputation. My wife and I both ordered the Texas hamburger with French fries, and everything was absolutely delicious! The burgers were outstanding, and the fries were some of the best we’ve had. Best cake in town, freshly baked breads and pastries are great. Prices have gone up 40% in the last two years. The fries are terrible. edit, 8 years later: 4 to 5 stars. The fries did improve. I was a little harsh. Despite the prices, the French Pantry is one of the few places you can get from-scratch food with quality ingredients these days. I enjoy every visit and look forward to returning. Keep up the great work!
Excellent variety, good portions, nice atmosphere but small place so you have to wait for available table , although this was at the peak of lunch time.
The food was great. One of the chefs even came out to say hi. The weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the food, but the view of the highway left much to be desired. Other than that the experience went well.
