We had an amazing time on the Turn to the River tour. It was fun and we learned so much history about the Petaluma River and surrounding city (and greater Northern California). Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable. We appreciate they are a nonprofit making boating more accessible for everyone and creating a new relationship with the tidal slough running through Petaluma. The kayak tour was great and you won’t get wet if you follow instructions.
So much fun and such good people. We’re only in town for a couple of days, and what a great way to get a different view of the city. I wish my town had a Floathouse.
Wonderful service .. excellent experience… beautiful day with my son and wife using the double whitehall row boat. Highly recommend.
As newbies, my friend and I rented a tandem kayak. From check-in including paddling tips, advice on working with the wind and tides, a very easy launch, a relaxing 2--hour paddle, to returning the kayak, it was great. Renting from the Floathouse was a pleasure worth repeating often. Also, the life preservers were comfortable, and the Floathouse folks loaned us dry pouches on lanyards for our phone/camera.
I have been wanting to try kayaking for years. I was so nervous that I would not be able to get in and out of the kayak. The two guys that helped me were so kind and understanding, they let me take my time and find my way so I felt comfortable, I really needed this. I can’t recommend this place enough! We had the best day! I can’t wait to go back!
