Lived at 815 state St (New Haven) for 4 months. Would not recommend it. Be prepared to haggle on small issues. The agent was professional but not considerate and highly unaccommodating. Good things: 1) Agent (name was George) was responsive on texts. 2) He would arrange for repairs quickly (but you may have to coordinate them with the contractor and sometimes you will pay unreasonably for them). If I could give Farnam 0 stars, I would. As a former Yale undergraduate who lived with Farnam for a year, I could not advise more strongly any potential tenants—whether in the Yale community or not—to avoid Farnam at all costs. When I moved into our unit, it was filthy, full of the previous tenants' furniture (Farnam promised us it would be empty), most of the window blinds throughout the house were missing, and our refrigerator was broken. I previously left a review of Farnam on this site that no longer represents my feelings about the company. Please disregard it. New management quickly and courteously responded to my complaints, and it appears that the company is headed in a positive direction. I would delete my 1 star review if BirdEye gave me the option to do so.
Neil Currie with Farnam represented me as I searched for potential investment properties in New Haven--SFR and MFR with fix and flip/rent potential. He was aggressive and proactive in guiding my search to relevant prospects, all while understanding well ROI based decision making.
