The Family Dog re-opened recently and is a slight upgrade from the original Family Dog. The food is less bizarre and there is a great selection. The food was very good and the beer selection offers something for everyone.

The best thing about this restaurant is the outdoor patio facing Highland for hanging out and people-watching. I wasn't a fan of the food. Bar is popular.

I hate to do this because I really want to like this place but... Mediocre $18 oysters and just plain bad bartenders, speak for itself. The "angry chef" has apparently instilled the sentiment to his staff that customers are privileged to be there. Just moved to Morningside and would've made this my local spot, but really? Given this place a try several times and the bartenders seem either way shot out from the night before or just too old to give a .... During the week there is a cool younger crowd, and the service is better. The food is awesome in concept but seriously misses the mark in delivery. I'd say don't bother. Way too many other options to have a buzz kill.
