We paid $3,000 for a dress that will never arrive. They went out of business and didn’t even tell us! How do I get my money back?

We ordered a $3000 dress, back in March, even paid extra for a rush. It appears they’ve been closed since April, which is right after we placed the order. Fortunately, the wedding that this dress is for has been moved till next year, but now we have the stress of trying to locate the designer and try to find where this dress is, if it’s even been ordered.

If you or someone you know I’d getting married, this is the only dress shop you need to go to. I can’t recommend it enough. The inventory is exquisite. with beautiful details and options to work with designers to customize your gown. The space itself is gorgeous, I’d love there if I could tbh. Found the dress of my dreams with the owner of the shop, Amelia, who could not have been a better stylist. The English Department is the best bridal salon in Portland

UPDATE: At this point I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone. They have been extremely difficult to get in touch with over the past few months and multiple times I have had to work with the designer directly to get anything done (I got some custom additions to my dress). My dress has been finished for almost 3 weeks and is still sitting at the designer's shop because The English Dept. hasn't gotten back to her either. And today we got a call from a "seasonal worker" (who was very nice and tried her best) to let us k... read more
