Very thin floorboards / ceilings. I've lived in apartments a lot in my life and I've never heard it this loud. I'm not one to complain because I am used to living in apartments, so when I hear my upstairs neighbor walking it doesn't bother me I just tune it out. My downstairs neighbor on the other hand thinks we are the loudest people in the world and complains about us all the time.
