We had an amazing stay at the Edgewater Hotel in Avalon! The location could not have been better — walking distance to everything in town, including restaurants, shops, and the beach. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the entire hotel had a relaxing, classic Catalina feel. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience easy from start to finish. This is the first time I have negatively rated a “hotel” and feel it was falsely advertised. It’s more like a motel, had to lug our luggage up a huge flight of stairs. The suite was not a suite, it had a window overlooking a beach where people were partying and smoking. I was traveling alone with my two kids, a man next door was asking me to come into his room in front of my kids. It was loud and we immediately left. It was a really good place to stay. Right in the middle of everything and right on the beach. The only complaint is the amount of stairs you have to climb with your luggage.
