Fresh and great food This is one of my favorite places for lunch. Either stepping away from work for a refreshing meal or when shopping at the Gateway. They have the best sandwiches and salads. It is a great place for lunch with friend especially when it is a hot summer day of shopping. The parking is easy since it is at the mall and if you are only going there for lunch the parking is free the first hour and if spending the day shopping you can get validations to cover the parking.
Great Turkey Sandwich I absolutely love this restaurant. They have the best barbeque turkey sandwich. It comes on a roll that is just the right amount of chewy piled with turkey and melted swiss and a side of sauce to dip your sandwich. This is one of the best sandwiches you will ever taste. It comes with a side salad that will complete the perfect lunch. Now that they are located at The Gateway mall, they are much easier to access. Beautiful atmosphere, food was terrible but the dessert was really good. If the food had been as good as the dessert would have been worth the $114 we spent for two people. But honestly you are paying for the location.
We LOVED our sandwiches - delicious flavor combinations! The atmosphere was fun as well, with live music for Saturday night. My only knock is that the tater tots were hugely disappointing - barely warm and not in the least bit crispy. But we'll be back to try ore sandwiches!
The Dodo has been one of our SLC favorites for a long time, so it was fun to return for a brunch. I got the shrimp sandwich with their signature salad which is delicious and tangy. We are shared baked cream cheese with crackers. Our server was great. Our wait for a table was about 30 minutes on a Sunday morning.
My family came here for my Birthday dinner on Wednesday 08/02/17. We arrived at about 6:30 pm and were told it would be a 45-60 minute wait for 7 people. Yikes! Super popular for a weeknight! While we were waiting I observed a waitress stop and stand on the stairs for 5 minutes or so just watching while the hostesses greeting people/looked over the seating chart. The food at the dodo is enjoyable and the service there is prompt. The restaurant can get loud if there are lots of people there. It is also a popular place to eat so the wait time to get seated can be upwards of 45 minutes. It is worth the wait especially if you are with a group of friends or family.
Came back just to bring my girlfriend I came here to Salt lake for work and was blown away by a few things. One, the city and Two, this Restaurant. I got some Salmon with berry sauce... SCREAMIN' GOOD! portions were great, the flavors were out of this world and the service was super friendly. It did get a little loud but I can only imagine it was from excitement from this great place. I have since moved my family here and am planing a trip to the Dodo for "date night" lol.
Great Meal, great place to eat. Me and my wife tried this place for the first time. It was amazing. We ate outside and had pulled pork quesadilla, smoked BBQ sandwich and enjoyed the tollhouse pie with ice cream to top it all off. We took left overs home for lunch the next day. We will most definitely will be back soon. LOVED IT !!!
