Strictly speaking, the name is accurate. It is what is served here. Still, you have to admire the moxie in choosing that particularly descriptive name. Concentrate, though, on the delicious Neapolitan-style cooking here from recipes handed down by the owner's grandmother. In addition to the terrific mussels, shellfish and fish dishes, find top quality prime rib and wonderful pastas. Specials change daily from the Broiled Halibut in Marinara Sauce to the hearty, house-made Cioppino. The service is warm and friendly for the po... read more

Unique, but ordinary What did I mean? The place is certainly unique, nice decor, which will time-warp you to a different place. It certainly has personality. But the food... is not. Good food, mind you, but I think it should be more daring and be more unique like the place itself.
This Dead Fish is a Good Catch The Dead Fish restaurant consistently impresses me with each visit. The wait staff is always friendly and courteous and give me honest and varied advice about what they like to order from their menu. There are amazing views of the bay at this romantic spot and the fresh sea food is unbeatable. Definitely worth checking out!
Yummy!! I love the crab lasagna!! It's perfect..it looks a little small but it's soooo filling. It's all you really need. I also recommend the mussels skillet and the prime rib which is a big portion. Service is excellent! Location is nice, ocean view. It can be either very casual or a nice quiet dinner for two.
The view is great, but something is always wrong here. Most of the time the food and service are fine. But when you're with a group of two or more, something is bound to go wrong at the Dead Fish. It's just a guarantee: wrong wine, charged twice for wine, way under-cooked steak, a strange tortilla in lieu of croutons on the Caesar...and they charge a lot for being so full of mistakes. But it's the nicest joint in the area. PROS: mostly good food, great views CONS: mistakes, pricey
It's all in the Chowder! I would come here everyday for their Crab Chowder... deeee-li-cious!!!!! :D Pricey place with fairly good food. I had the fish dish (you chose a type of fish tat you want and a style that you want them to make it). I would say this dish could use a little more flavor. However fish was fresh, cooked to perfection and great mix of ingredients for the variety of styles that they give as choices. Dinner time is apparently always always crowded (as I was told by locals). They have a parking lot across the... read more
So-so food, so-so service We waited for about 45 minutes to get our seats. I realized this is the weekend, but c'mon, how slow can you be! After seating, the service was also quite slow, and the food is typical Italian/seafood places that you can find elsewhere in the bay area. Great view, though.
Beautiful locattion, good food This is a little bit of a fancy reasturant, and that's reflected in the price. That being said, the food is really good. The reasturant is on the water, and has a lovely view. Probably better suited to a romantic evening than a family outing. There is also a cozy bar area where they have sofas and chairs set up in groups for a laid back gathering of friends. Several vegetarian options, which was good for me since they were out of the first item I ordered. I guess it shows that they stick to the... read more
