I travel all over the country for work and eat at a lot of vegan restaurants. The Dancing Dog is far and away one of the best. Great people, great food and a great dining experience.
I was in town to attend a conference and the caterer did make an effort to prepare something small on the side for vegans. However, after a few days of meals low in protein and high in vinegar-like sauces and salt I had to escape. I was really excited to find this place however it totally missed the mark on service and quality compared to other Vegan restaurants I’ve had in several major cities. I had a table of 3. It took 40 minutes to get the first of 3 entrees and the other 2 plates arrived about 20 minutes after that so the first plate was already cold by then. Love eating here! Had a mock egg salad sandwich today that was incredible. Delicious vegan baked desserts too. Just wish I lived closer. Will be back to try the smoothies!
WOW what a treat!! Our family of 6 is vegan and quite health-minded. Finding a place where we can all eat and be blown away by the original and DELICIOUS food is beyond rare. This Mother's Day weekend my son received his Master's. Our family had a fabulous time singing karaoke together in town Saturday night, attending the graduation then topping of the magical stay with the best meal we've had in years!! Rare find in middle America!! Such a pleasant surprise to find a vegan restaurant in Urbana. I had the nachos, hummus plate, quencher juice and took a scrumptious black bean brownie for later. The staff was friendly and helpful with my selections. I loved every bite and wish I could dine there when I get back on Sunday but, alas, they are only open till 2:00 PM. If I ever get back to Urbana, I will absolutely eat here again!
