I didn’t get to actually go to this salon, but I had a pretty disappointing experience. I needed to reschedule my appointment (well within the 72-hour window), but the online system wouldn’t let me. Their form said to call, so I did—dozens of times. I also emailed and heard nothing back. No one responded, and they still kept my deposit. Their customer service was basically nonexistent. I had a cut and consultation with Elisha. Her friendly approachable demeanour made me feel relaxed immediately. I recently grew out my hair after wearing it short for decades. I needed help managing my curls. She cut it dry and reshaped it. Washed and conditioned it. She taught me how to style it and what products to use. I’m extremely pleased with the result. I will return to her and highly recommend her!
This is a great hair salon if you have wavy to ringlet curly types, but if you have any type of kinky-coily Afro textured hair, the stylists here are completely unable to do truly naturally-textured hair. Even the visibly Black stylists seem clueless about how to handle Afro hair types. I wound up having to BC my hair after a poorly advised, VERY disastrous “curly cut” 😒 I got here a year or so ago. I absolutely love supporting small business and would not normally write a review like this but it’s so unfortunate the way the Curl Lounge runs their business & I wish there was more care for the community who’s in desperate need for a positive salon experience.
