The Cliffs Hotel & Spa in Pismo Beach feels more like a solid 4-star European hotel than a typical 3-star. Clean, modern building, great location near the ocean, and all the expected amenities, including a nice pool. However, parking was inconvenient—mandatory valet for $25 or a free lot a 5-minute walk away, which we chose. It felt a bit like they were trying to upsell everything, starting from check in and parking, and then even in the room.
