Fantastic. There is too much demand and under supply of ADHD/anxiety in the DMV. The CC gets it right- from intake (which often make it impossible for people with ADHD to actually make an appointment- thinking specifically of the failings of the Ross Anxiety Center). This team of professionals gets it right! Patient admin staff, easy intake forms, appointment reminders, quality therapists…. Who seem to not only be great at what they do, but enjoy their work and genuinely enjoy helping people be their best selves.
I’ve had a fabulous experience with this center. My therapist and psychiatrist are both very kind, knowledgeable, professional, warm, helpful problem solvers and amazing listeners who aak strategic questions and have truly helped with some major life and mental health issues
First of all, if you can minimize any contact with some of the less capable elements of their bureaucracy, the treatment experience is top notch. However, they will try to charge you for cancellations made less than five days in advance. They are gleefully unapologetic when confronted with the absurdity of such anti-consumer policies, but this sort of take-it-or-leave-it approach is more and more the nature of interacting with Chesapeake. While I have never been to the Chesapeake Center, I was a patient of their clinical director, Dr. David Palmiter, in 2010 or 2011, when I was about 16 years old, for depression and anger issues as a teen. He diagnosed me with depression and oppositional defiant disorder and insisted on doing family therapy with me and my parents (I refused to see him for individual therapy because I was uncomfortable with him and his vibe).
