Love ❤️ this place, tho' not for folks looking for fast-paced glitz. Main building is a beautiful, memorable walk back in time. A slower pace, a break from hectic city life. Great service & Southern cooking.
We dined there last night. The Hotel is beautifulas was dining on theViranda. The bar was fun & drinks were exceptional. We were seated but waited a rrally long time for a waiter. We finally ordered and my Sirloin was ordered m-rare. It was med-well. They offered to serve another. We could not find our waitress. The outdoor area emptied out so not sure why no service? Lets start with check in. I was given the wrong key so I walked in on another couple (embarrassing for both) 1) The hotel is dirty dirty dirty a) carpets are never vacuumed b) balcony floors are dirty c) I have never stayed in a hotel where there is no cleaning staff (for the general areas) d) my bed sheets had a stain, and towels were not replaced after the day out 2) The customer service wasnt there a) why am I the one greeting? A true historical landmark and beautifully maintained. The service and staff are wonderful. The rooms are comfortable with AC, wood flooring and solid comfortable beds. Windows are fully openable with screens so one can experience the fresh outside air, which tends to be pleasantly cool overnight, even after hot days. Excellent food at the Magnolia restaurant. Another plus is the location. A 5min walk from main beach, yet on a quiet block, away from the hubbub of main boardwalk.
