The intake person is so nasty! I called bc I’m looking for help. The receptionist took a message and said intake would called back. Apparently you need a referral to go there, which I was not told; nor is it started anywhere that you needed one. The intake lady was so rude when I said didn’t have one. It is so hard to get mental health help. It took so much to even reach out. She had zero interest in even trying to assist
Very nasty staff, makes fun of people with speech problems. My brother called and asked if they take medicare. Staff yelled. No we don’t take medical what stupid question is that. He said no MEDICARE SHE REPLIED “ you must be slow this is NY avoid these people at all coast

I hope this review can help steer those who need help, in a better direction: I have been trying to get in as a new patient for literally months for medication as I do therapy at a different providers office. The intake team here rarely calls back, and the level of incompetence at this office is nothing short of remakable and, unironically, impressive. I am definitely worse off today having Dr Merkel and UBMD in myself and my families lives. Overwhelming negative experience with them.. I honestly wish I would have never heard of either of them. This place gives the University at Buffalo a bad name. I am personally ashamed to have my Alma-mater associated with this group.
I chose to trust a doctor there that I had at the VA, that had recently transferred their for my child’s care. I told him I am a disabled veteran and I can’t afford large medical bills. He proceeded to charge my insurance $250 for the first visit (30 minutes) and $240 for the second visit (30 minutes). I didn’t receive the first bill until the second appointment had occurred.
