About this business

The Broken Rack was founded in 1998 by three pool enthusiasts. All had been regulars or employees of Chalkers Emeryville, the legendary upscale billiards room of the 90s. Once Chalkers had gone, the three felt there was a need for a new, high quality pool room; a place where everyone would feel comfortable, with regulation tables and good equipment, with a first class bar, good food and an attractive environment. More than a decade later we believe that The Rack is still "The place to play in the East Bay." After 11 years, w... read more

alright if you really want to play pool and pay a lot for it It's pretty expensive - something like $9 or $11 an hour. The employees were pretty nice. There are also no clocks, so you have no idea how much time you've spent. It's nice, though, because it definitely is a pool hall. There's so many tables there. It seems like a neighborhood joint as well, not jam-packed with hipsters either. Good music too. I'll maybe go again, but I'd have to go one of the discount nights, where it's half off.

The Broken Rack I really like the atmosphere at this Billiards hall in Emeryville which is a few blocks from the new shopping area Bay St. The service here is also a plus and the the girls are pretty cute too. You have to be 21 and up to get in though. They have good music playing and its always a good vibe.

Good atmosphere Broken rack is a tiny bit classier than the other pool halls around the bay area. They serve some food, drinks, and have waitresses uniformed. It's 21+ pool hall by the way. They plenty of regulation tables and a couple of snooker tables in the back. One special VIP room in the corner and a smoking lounge room. Its located in a business and shopping complex in Emeryville. Service is pretty good and well worth the experience. One of my favorite pool halls here in the east bay. They also hold tournaments here a... read more
