They seem to go out of his way to book the best bands. This place has been there a long time and Mark does a good job running the place. If a good band comes to town, this is where they play. That's when this place rocks. I saw 3 bands there last night. (All were awesome.) It looks small when you walk in but its not. There is always enough security around to keep things safe. the boardwalk aka emo heaven this place is THE place to go.not only for the music but just because it is one of the many places that rockers get together and have fun. just about every show i've been to was awesome. and the bands there make the whole get together really intimate. of course there is a problem if you are clausterphobic and don't like people breathing down your neck...other then that this is the place to be.
HORRIBLE I would not recomend this place to anyone unless they like to hang with bottom feeders, well at least the security there is. The security is a huge joke so do not plan on needing protection because there won't be any. NO ONE under 18 should be allowed in this dive and how they get away with it is beyond me. Oh watching shows is what you pay for? Good luck seeing them through all the securities heads, because that is what they are focused on instead of keeping the peace. Fantastic I've been going to shows here for years. It's a great place to see a cheap show, and to see up and coming bands that you won't see elsewhere, as well and indie and punk shows. Ticket prices are great. Atmosphere is very cozy, and you can get a mighty fine pit going for such a small place. Parking sucks but it's worth a walk across the street!
Great little club! The Boardwalk is a great, smaller venue for gigs. They feature a lot of indie or lesser known bands, and you can't beat the ticket prices. We recently saw The Horrorpops there for $12! Can't beat that. Security was good, but not an overwhelming presence. The sound was great, and the atmosphere is just really good.
Good music. The Boardwalk has been one of the Sacramento areas best venues for quite some time, the staff is awesome. It's small so it's an intimate setting and you can really feel the music. its not ahuge venue but they have some amazing shows, some of today's biggest bands have been there not to mention some great local ones. I highly recommend that you check it out if you're in the area. Good parking and cheap shows.
Boardwalk I go to the boardwalk about 4 to 6 times a month. The bouncers are realy nice. A large variety of bands play there. The drinks Are a little high priced, but thats understandable with the entertainment. Ill be going there for a long time to come. I have alot of friends there. I Reccomend this bar to everyone. For The Other Crowd This is for the alternate group. If your into the rocker crowd or your favorite color is black then i got a place for you. Strap on your leather and dark make up and stroll on down to the boardwalk.
Like it I like this place alot. I only go here for the concerts and everytime I'm there I have a amazing time. The only thing I dont like is that it is kind of far. I dont have the best transportation so it is hard for me to get there.
