About this business

The Blue Room is simple casual comfort. Housed in a renovated woven hose factory, this nationally acclaimed restaurant is composed of bare wood beams, brick and granite walls, cozy suede banquettes, soft lighting and zinc-topped tables. Chef Robert Grant puts his wood-burning grill to work creating dishes with influences from his time spent cooking his way through Italy, Spain and France using locally-sourced ingredients and techniques gleaned from his stints with renowned chefs Thomas Keller + Barbara Lynch. Along with the ... read more

Awful experience made worse by staff and management's total lack of interest in the customer or the product – Well, the Blue Room's reign supreme is officially over. After two semi poor experiences, gave it one more shot. Wines by the glass were dead (no cork; days old?). Long long delays every step of the way, waiting for order to be taken, drinks, wine, even when we asked for bill, told we needed to wait while waiter got drinks for the next table. Food arrived literally ice cold; told us oven was broken. Took back both of ... read more

Most horrific experience - rude and unaccomodating hostesses, terrible atmospher, esp for business meals – If you want to be jamped into tables where you practically sit on the your neighbors' laps and be part of their conversations, or vice versa, then this is the place you. My colleague and I met for dinner after work and requested a quiet table. The hostess gave us a table in the booth where we were 2 feet away from the neighboring table. It's either we talk and they listen to our conversation or we shut up and listen to ... read more

Visit Reggie at the bar ! – The Blue Room has been a haven for Boston area foodies who seek creative, beautifully prepared Mediterranean specialties and stylish comfort food in an atmosphere that seems to be all things to all people. You can be dressed up or casual, you will always fit in. The appetizers are sublime...the wine list changes often and is always a good value. The dining patio is a great experience. The wait staff is professional and knowledgable, the managment are accessible and friendly. The back dining room i... read more

some good, mostly bad – I was very dissappointed with my experience. First, we had the short rib served on polenta. The rib was fantastic, but the polenta was far too buttery to the point where it felt you were sucking down a stick of butter. I ordered the duck for dinner. The duck itself was well prepared as were the brussel sprouts. The "chieftan's" wild-rice, bonded together by some mysterious substance was terrible and the thin port reduction seemed unreduced. Worst of all was the presentation, a parsley sprig jammed int... read more

A great place – I ate at the Blue Room with a group of 15 coworkers and was blown away by the service, ambiance, and quality of the food and wine. The staff made great recommendations, and saw to it that we had everything we needed and more. I'll definitely be back here again.

Drunk on dessert – Stopping by the Blue Room for dessert may be a good idea, as the entrees tend to be slightly expensive. Their cognac parfait is ethereal, with prunes soaked in cognac and their chocolate pot de creme is delicious. Definitely a must for dessert.

Cuban influences – I've been here for breakfast and dinner and both are great. For breakfast, they have a lot of Spanish influences with black beans and guacamole and egg burritos. For dinner, the chicken is excellent as are the fried plantains.

just say no – I went back and had terrible service. Certain people got served before others, and we were forced to stand in a corner until we were served.

Excellent Dining Experience – This is one of my favorite spots in the Boston area. The service is always pleasant; the food is always delicious, hot and interesting. I especially love the wine tasting nights! It is always a safe bet to take a menu recommendation from the staff, they are all very knowledgeable on all of their menus, wine and food. This is a very well run dining experience!
