About this business

For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". The local people had other ideas, though. Convinced the building was far too large to ever be a success they nicknamed it "Tommy's Folly". In this first incarnation it was a quite different affair. Our server was amazing (I can’t remember her name) but she was on top of everything. We initially were seated outside but a crazy thunderstorm came in and they were able to accommodate us inside very quickly and we were 7 people plus my dog! Once inside, she immediately got another round of drinks for us right away and she even brought our 3 kiddos blue pig slippers. Food and cocktails were fresh and delicious. We’ll def come back again.

Service awful, food cold. Didn't touch it but still had to pay. I don't recommend. 3 times charm. Good luck and happy trails.

Beautiful place, great service, and delicious food. Not really sure why this received so many bad reviews for the service and attentiveness because we got seated right away (we had a reservation), and everything arrived in a timely manner. Would recommend.
