I highly recommend this establishment! You'll be greeted the minute that you enter the door with a warm welcome! I enjoy the chicken fried chicken, mac and cheese, and unsweet tea here! The desserts are a must-have!

I committed the ultimate sin today: I ate a Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and forgot to take a picture of it. Please accept my formal apology; my stomach simply staged a coup against taking a moment for food photos. This place overcooked my chicken sandwich. The flavor was ok, but it was incredibly disappointing given the high hopes I had for this place based on reviews and photos. Additionally, they messed up my wife’s order twice, once was a simple mistake pouring sauce all over her food she had ordered on the side, which happens. The first experience I had with The Birdhouse was great which it why I gave two stars instead of one. This past experience was the worst. I would like to start with the fact that we made a reservation for eight. The restaurant should have planned for the larger party along with the normal Sunday brunch traffic in Gruene. Our drinks took entirely too long and one of the members of our party did not get her drink until we asked for it the third time.
