Recommendedbest hatchway doors on the market. this Bilco system is well over 50 years old, and still functions as designed. granted it needs a paint job, but it's fully functional and doesn't leak at all.
Their customer service is terrible. When you call into sales, the message says we'll be with you in 3 minutes. At the end of 3 minutes they drop you into voice mail. You leave a message and they never call back.
Inferior quality of their egress window wells. After only six years, on a newly constructed home, the wells have cracked and are severely bowed in multiple areas. Will not honor their warranty in conjunction with Pulte Homes. Their failure to acknowledge the material and structural defects is causing the issue to lean towards litigation. Be aware prior to dealing with The Bilco Company.
I haven't tried it though do like the idea and hope it would stop someone.
