Don't bother – Our bill came to $45 (before tax). We ordered two pasta dishes and an oyster app. A little more expensive than I anticipated but it would've been fair if the food tasted good. I ordered Garlic Prawn Linguini which is pasta, prawns, tomato, olive, caper, cheese. I don't know what they did besides over cook it and douse it in too much cheese. It was seriously awful. Sadly Going Down Hill – My family and I have loved the Newport for many years. But last night was a disaster. The fish & chips (cod) was horrible. They have really cheapened their best dish. Instead of their former steak fries they have gone to skinny limp fries. Instead of the hand breaded portions of fish they have gone to pre packaged frozen fish. I hope some day I can go back to this formerly wonderful place. But for now I'll get my Fish & chips at Red Robin or Spud.

Our Family's Favorite Restaurant – I just read the other review for this restaurant and had a hard time imagining that this person had eaten at the same restaurant I have visited so many times. The restaurant is decorated in a restful white and blue and has no resemblance to any fast food restaurant I have ever eaten at. Some of the pictures on the walls are of former times, intentionally. Tasteless – We were looking for a decent price seafood restaurant, and we noticed a always somewhat busy place on Northup way that prompted out interest. We are from Europe and still not used to what they call restaurants here, but the ambiance has the resemblance of fast food restaurant (booths along the sides, a few tables in the middle) with service.
