The Benson – I booked 7 nights at the Benson for our honeymoon as it was a stylish aesthetic with spacious rooms from what I saw. We also weren’t driving on the trip, so the central location was very much a plus. The staff were also very friendly and willing to assist. I had seen commentary about the air con being too loud but this wasn’t an issue personally nor was the ambient noise from the entertainment area downstairs or the backpackers across the road. Dirty rooms, run down. For the price there is much better places in Cairns . No complimentary water, dirty coffee cups and stale coffee, mold all over bathroom facilities, no pleasant reception staff as I tried to change room due to these issues.
Dated hotel with a very cheap renovation- terrible breakfast buffet. Not the worst I’ve stayed in, but better value elsewhere. Close to nightclubs so quite noisy. Wouldn’t bother staying here again
