I have no issues with any meat here. I have had it many times
I have now had a few negative experiences with this butcher as it relates to freshness of the meat they sell. Twice I have bought steaks and a day later open the package to rancid meat. Another time it wasn't rancid but didn't seem high quality. Avoid.
I bought 12 fresh chicken burgers Saturday afternoon with the intent on having a great BBQ Sunday afternoon. Burgers were kept in their packages in the fridge. Only to open the pack Sunday to BBQ and found a pile of liquid mush. The water content in your chicken burgers astronomical cost was excessive but thought it may be worthwhile quality.
I love their experiments. I wish they would do more of them, but this guanciale is great.
The butcher says 3 days freshness, 5 days max for beef. At 5 days I opened up $50 of beef short ribs to cook for guests and they stink, truly rank and inedible. I hate wasting $, especially for an animal that’s been butchered. I called and the business won’t make this right. I know I pushed to day 5, but for fresh beef, it shouldn’t be this “off”. Buyer beware… and now I don’t have anything special to cook for my guests, who are arriving in a few hours.
