Had an amazing time today at The Barefoot Forge with Craig and Andy making rail road spike bottle openers. They were both really down to earth guys, very welcoming and a pleasure to be around. They made it a very pleasurable, fun and relaxes experience. This was my first doing anything in a forge and I felt at home with these guys. I would definitely recommend one of their classes for a day out with boys and would make for a very fun and unique date night as well.

We did a forging class tonight and made bottle openers. Craig and Andy were great! The took the time to give us a history lesson on forging. They were fun to hang out with and taught us how to make bottle openers from railroad spikes. If you’re heading to Pittsburgh you need to add Barefoot Forge to your list of this to do!

We had such an amazing time! Craig was so friendly and fun. He made the whole experience easy, exciting, and honestly just a blast. I loved how hands-on everything was, and it felt so cool to actually make something myself.

Great place to go to learn blacksmithing! Instructor makes it simple and fun to learn. Anyone can do it and you'll be proud of what you accomplish. I always wanted to weld and got to do it here. Added bonus, if you're looking for a creative way to celebrate your 6th, 7th, or 11th wedding anniversaries, you can work with iron, copper, and steel here. Highly recommend!

Night Full of Sparks — and Not Just from the Forge If you’re looking for a date night that really heats things up, Barefoot Forge is the spot. My partner and I made metal roses — though by the end, it felt like we were the ones getting forged. Between the glowing steel, the pounding hammers, and the gentle guidance of our very patient instructor, things got steamy in all the right ways. There’s something about sharing safety glasses, handling hot metal, and swinging tools together that really brings out your inner blacksmith... read more
