I shop here often. I have met some wonderful people in the sales staff who are very passionate about their outdoor adventures and that translates into a good knowledge of their inventory and what works and what hasn't. They try in every way to accommodate you even looking at the ability to special order items. I had a wonderful experience purchasing my first kayak from the Backpacker. All the people were more than friendly and helpful, but most of all Susie Skaggs was the best. She helped me through the entire process of outfitting the Revolution 13 to perfectly suit my needs. Special thanks to Zach for talking through the installations with me. It was an all together great buying experience.

Great Outdoors store I love the backpacker. They sell all kinds of clothing, gear and equipment for outdoor activities. We shop at the backpacker for skiing equipment. This is one of the few places in Baton Rouge that sell ski items. There prices can be a little high but as I said earlier you cannot find a lot of ski stuff in Baton Rouge. The selection of ski googles, hats, pants, and jackets are great. I know I can always find good stuff here that is quality and won't fall apart.
