RecommendedStopped in today, visiting the area from Texas, everyone in the store was very helpful and friendly. The store has a wide variety of items and gear including some hard to find items. I recently went here for the first time, and I will absolutely be back! I’m pretty new to backpacking, and I didn’t really know what I was looking for as far as gear. Aubrey was super patient and helpful and helped me find the perfect bag and sleeping bag! If you’re looking for camping/hiking gear, this is your place!

Walter, Austin and Tyler are great. Walter specifically went above and beyond with customer service. I have a 2017 Hobie Pro Angler that had bent drive shafts. Tyler posted in a forum I follow that I could have it replaced free. Took me a while to find time for the drive to BR from Nola, but they took care of everything. Walter then met me in Nola when my drive was ready to save me from driving back to BR. I couldn’t be more happy and will support this store anytime I can! Thanks again guys.
I shop here often. I have met some wonderful people in the sales staff who are very passionate about their outdoor adventures and that translates into a good knowledge of their inventory and what works and what hasn't. They try in every way to accommodate you even looking at the ability to special order items. Lastly, I can say I have attended a special event held by The Backpacker that was Awesome- Nature Photographer Jami Tarris. The talk was worth getting upstairs and down with a broken leg.
