When we were looking for a private clinic to get our daughter assessed we couldn’t have picked a better place ! The Autism service we used was the Manchester based clinic and from the very start it was amazing. Everything from appointments to feedback was done with such professionalism. I was told that because I am creative, use eye contact and share humour that I don't fit the category for autism. I am female and very high functioning. I spoke to them about it and they said they will discuss it further with me but with a fee. I don't want to give them more money. Luckily I have spoken to a different clinician and actually got an autism diagnosis, she specialises in high masking females. Extremely thorough and professional service, from the booking and organisation of appointments, pre-service support and collation of documentation right through to the online and in-house discussions and assessments. My daughter was made to feel safe and secure throughout her interactions with the clinicians; and us, as parents, were also made to feel listened to, understood and given fantastic support and information on how to move forward. I ultimately settled with using 'The Autism Service' as they had a local clinic location to my home. They delivered a patient led experience and left myself and my Wife feeling listened to and ended up providing me the diagnosis that has helped me better understand my lifetime (of 34 years) of questions. I honestly can’t thank The Autism Service in Hull enough. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth, kind, and genuinely life-changing.
