Can't wait until my contract is up I have never written a bad review before. I believe if you donât have anything nice to say, then you shouldnât say it at all. In this case, I felt compelled to warn other consumers because of the high price of the membership. I would not recommend The Athletic Club. Health Club The Athletic Club has lots to offer to get into shape. Whether you like to swim, bike, walk on the treadmill, or take a class they have it all. It is fun to go with your family, friends or just by yourself.
Service, equipment and price; all bad. The Athletic Club of York is a facility filled with outdated and constantly broken equipment. It seems as though they haven't updated any of the equipment in years and won't for quite some time. Their service towards their own members is even worse. I GUESS WE WERENT GOOD ENOUGH IN THEIR EYES My children and I stopped in to this place to inquire about swimming lessons. As soon as wel walked in the door you would have thought that we were non existant. Of the three people in the office, not one of them acknowledged that we were there. After asking for info about the swimming lessons one of the girls basically pointed towards a stack of papers and kept right on doing what she was doing. Old gym with Owners of No Character Not only is this gym outdated - old equipment which needs repairs, locker rooms that need major overhauls, etc - it's too expensive. If Planet Fitness can offer $10 memberships, why are we paying $40 at a club that is in need of serious repair. Also the owners of TAC are known to be scumbags. One owner left his wife and son a few years ago for the mistress he met at the gym. Not that he was ever faithful to his wife before this mistress. A true "Club" I have been a member of The Athletic Club for 16 years, and it is definitely the best "Club" in York. The atmosphere is very comfortable, and NOT a meat market like the other gyms in the area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the owners are great. They are there all of the time, and if you have an issue you can talk with them directly. Some of the equipment is older, but free weights are free weights.
