The good aspects of the Aspen are its location and spacious units, but that's all. The rent used to seem reasonable, but they are remodeling and raising rents significantly. They also tack on a hefty utility fee so the overall rent is no longer attractive. Despite the renovations, the building is old and roach infested. RecommendedWhen I lived there it was an equitable arrangement. However, some inconveniences were fire alarms in the middle of the night, an aging HVAC system, meaning on cold days in Winter there was no heat, and lots of ownership/management changes. Rent prices seemed fair.
From 2010 until 2017, I would said it was amazing. New management came in, and at the direction of the owners, fired all the great workers. Management is ok, but does not care about residents like prior management did (thus the "dog friendly" community despite over half of the residents not wanting it). The worst part is the firing of most of the prior maintenance staff. It took over 2 months to get a leak in the hall fixed properly. Promised new washers and dryers...still waiting on that.
