COLLEGE STUDENTS BEWARE The Arch is probably one of the worst places I have ever lived. They are not honest and not cooperative. Manager Amanda and a lot of office staff are very rude and not helpful at all. I tried to reason with them and pay out the remainder of my lease due to needing to relocate and was told I could do this but then to turn in my keys but I'd still be held liable which makes no sense especially if I didn't even have keys anymore. I tried multiple times to find someone to take over my lease and every time... read more

Do NOT live here! If you are brave enough to live here just be warned there were a ton of problems that will never be resolved. There are no rules on what your roommate can and can't do. My roommate was allowed to eat my food, "borrow" my stuff, take my stuff and absolutely nothing was done. He has a puppy that poops and pees everywhere. He was also allowed to make, sell and do drugs in our apartment and even with proof ... nothing was done. I tried several times to get out of my lease because I don't want to go to jail for ... read more

Business response:

Hi Trey! Thanks for the review. As we've discussed previously, if you suspect criminal activity to be going on, you must alert the police. There is only so much that we can do, besides alerting the authorities, since we are in fact in no way police. Common sense would tell someone if they felt they were in danger, to call the police first instead of waiting until the office opens the next day to report an issue. Thank you, The Arch

On my other complaint I forgot to mention that we did go the apartments in March to make them aware that the roommate was selling and doing drugs in the apartment as well as eating all of my sons food. Things including money were also coming up missing. We went back in May to let management know that he was now making, selling and doing drugs, but this was of no concern at all to the management as long as the kid is paying his rent. We even had a video that the roommate had posted on social media of him with drugs and feedin... read more

Business response:

Hi Olenda! Thanks for writing this review. As we've discussed with you, we take detailed notes each time we have a meeting with tenants, and there was no mention of anyone "selling and doing drugs" when we met in March. If we had been alerted to this, we would have notified to police right away. Again, we have to wonder why you would notify us before the police of drug activity. When you notified us of the situation in May, we immediately called our courtesy officer, who you've mentioned several times is a friend of your hu... read more

Had several problems happen when my son was living here and tried to go up in person several times to talk to management to get the problem resolved, but in the end all they cared about was making sure they were getting their money. They absolutely did not care about my son's safety. After my son and his roommate were held up at gunpoint in front of their apartment, they were moved into another apartment. The roommate moved out shortly after and the management didn't seem to think it was a big deal that the new roommate was m... read more

Business response:

Hi ******* Thanks for the review. We do not have any record of you calling since we last spoke a week or two ago. However, I do know that you spoke to our regional supervisor and she agreed to let you out of your lease. To reiterate our policy, any time drugs are suspected to be in a unit, we do not notify the residents that we will be making an inspection, but we do notify our courtesy officer so that they can accompany us to the unit for our own personal safety. Thank you, Arch Abilene

The Arch at Abilene assured me that I would receive a lease with a positive credit score. Despite a score over 700, I was denied for unspecific reasons. They unceremoniously dismissed me with an email informing me I was denied. A simple phone call seems better suited but I can only assume this is a reflection on how they do business. In hindsight, I probably dodged a bullet in not living there.

Business response:

Hi ***! Our screening company sent you an email yesterday detailing why you were denied. I'd be happy to print off the letter so that you can view it, however I don't feel comfortable putting your personal information on the BBB site since this is public information. Let me know if you would like me to do this for you, or if you would like to discuss over the phone. You can reach me at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Thank you, ***** ******** General Manager Arch Abilene
