Allegro is beautiful – Cafe Allegro is wonderful. One of the few places for the mature minds and sensitive spirits of Seattle to gather in one place--what would the U-District be without it? The reviews harping on bad baristas are ridiculous. First of all, because the baristas are ALL lovely people...I have been a regular for almost a decade--trust me on this. If you want something other than Starbucks... The entrance to this cafe is almost hidden in a back alley, but the mood here is very relaxed and the coffee I had was great. The environment is very welcoming, just like the people. Cafe Allegro has been like a canvas upon which my entire experience has been accentuated over many years. I remember the owner as a barista back then, with his beret, and his warm personality. Many a rainy days were given a huge uptick from a visit to Cafe Allegro. Many people I have known have ... read more
