Stopped today on my birthday because of a big sign out front that says you eat free on your birthday. I am not the cheap sort - I was going to spend some time and money on other things at the bar too - including a nice big tip for the bartender. Just to be sure I didn't run afoul of any rules for the free meal i decided to ask before eating vs. waiting till the end. Abington Ale House & Grill-local hotspot This is a relaxed and comfortable restaurant with good food and good bar with beer and appetizers. Local place with a good reputation and its is easy to get to and plenty of parking.
Abington Ale House & Grill is not what it used to be.... I go to the Ale House fairly often. I am usually very impressed by the food. However, the last time I went I was literally appauled and disgusted at the food. I went there to have a great dinner but I was served breaded chicken with Chicken Noodle Soup as gravy. There were literally tiny squares of chicken on top of my soggy chicken that was supposed to be crispy...and that sat on a bed of INSTANT POTATOES, with some oddly bright neon green beans next to that. Awesome Dip – I was there last week and had the buffalo chicken dip. It was out of this world! The salads are enormous and fresh as can be. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Perfect 10!!!! – This place is awsome. It was perfect from the time we walked through the door! We had the best bartender and the most AMAZING (and HUGE) chicken potpie!!! Loved it!!! GO HERE!!!!!
The Best This is one of my favorite restaurants. I've never been disappointed. The portions are huge and the quality is excellent. There's no downside to the Abington Ale House, other than the noise if you're looking for peace and quiet. It can get packed here.
this restaurant has the best country chicken dinner ever, much recomended but aside from the great food they have a waiting staff that is very nice.Also, outdoor seating with bar where they play boston sports games!
