Had a very frustrating experience at Thanjai Mess. The food quality fell completely flat (1/5), and service was average at best. To make matters worse, we were hit with an unexpected 18% gratuity charge on a bill for only 4 people. When we questioned it, management claimed the fee was added because we brought our own drinks (BYOB). Standard policy across New Jersey typically applies auto-gratuity to parties of 6 or more, not 4. Poor food and unexpected hidden charges mean we definitely won't be back.
