not happy i was really disappointed. thanh has a very chic look to it. if a person looks at it from afar, he/she would think of it a a pricey place. thus, when i went in, i expected the food and service to reflect the environment. i was not pleased. the service was pretty bad. we didn't get our water refilled once. we were asked if everything was okay only once. we had to wait for a while to get the check and that was after we finally flagged someone down. and this was at 10pm, when it wasn't busy at all!! i ordered pho. it ... read more

Never Judge a Book by it's cover – Sure the restaurant looks beautiful, and the service is nice, but I can't help but escape the fact that the food is just not up to par. The food is mediocre at best, and unauthentic. Presentation is wonderful and great, but once you take a bite, it leaves little to be enthusiastic about. The soups are the worst on the menu. I've ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it was unauthentic and just not great. The pho should be served hot, not luke warm and the rice dishes are not worth their price although... read more

nice setting, satisfactory Vietnamese food Thanh is the more nicely decorated Vietnamese restaurant in Irvine. I like that their menu has a greater variety than say Pho 99, but they are just slightly pricier. I'm not sure how their pho compares to Pho 99 or other Vietnamese restaurants in Westminster, but I've liked some of their noodle soups. I didn't like their "house special" noodle soup though....the soup base tasted bland. Their service can be inconsistent at times especially when busy. But I like coming here if I want ... read more

Ingredient Warning! – Be sure you ask if there is pork blood in your entree since their menus don't indicate the presence of culturally unique ingredients in their dishes. I made this mistake and argued for minutes with the manager, who was unwilling to let me order something else. He told me that it was my mistake for ordering it (even though their menu didn't say it had pork blood), and if you wanted something else, I would have to pay for it. So much for true customer service.
