The front desk was nice and triage. When it came to the nurse calling my sons name she said the name wrong then proceeded to talk to people saying my sons name different ways. I corrected her she took us to the waiting room in the back then stated hurry up because my child was lil dizzy and walking slow if it wasn’t an emergency I would of left TGH is starting to be the worse hospital.
I wanted to share my personal experience with my mother and I's visit to this ER. I'm rating this only based on my personal interactions. The first person to greet my mother was the security guard who helped my mother walk to the reception area. As soon as I got there, I was the one advocating as my mother was having a difficult time. I strongly advise against seeking treatment at this hospital. The triage process in the ER is questionable; my son and I have been waiting for treatment since 9:00 PM, and it is now 1:27 AM. I contacted Brandon Hospital to inquire about the current wait times; this is the sole reason for my continued presence here with my son. We will depart shortly if he has not been seen by 2:00 AM.
Your ER nurses need a refresher on how to speak to patients and on sterile procedure/how to access med ports. The nurse cleaned my skin for maybe 5 seconds. Did not allow it to dry. Used a 1inch needle on a pediatric sized patient and med port. Wrapped the dressing AROUND the needle so the entirety of the needle and hub were left exposed. The back wrapper was also left on the dressing. She used an IV 3000, which is not large enough to be occlusive for a 1inch med port.
