I am appalled. My Mom had an appt today. She lives 2.5 hours away from your facility, she's 78. She was coming to find out the treatment plan for the cancerous spots on her kidneys and had to wait 45 minutes for the appointment that told her nothing. You guys were not even prepared to see her. Can doctor offices not communicate with each other in this day & age? A quick phone call/text/email would have gotten you the CT scan you needed to review. Beforehand the doctor read my chart. And had decided to tell us no. After telling us pertinent info about what is Sickle Cell and the steps for Bone Marrow Transplant vs Gene Therapy. Also the cost. The hospital and the insurance companies are arguing about that. And to wait for his phone call. I don't know at which moment he changed his mind about me. I just thank God that he did. Great doctors
I was charged nearly EIGHT TIMES what I owed, even after I mentioned to the receptionist my coinsurance is only 10% and asked if the amount was right. Lo and behold, the EOB came through stating I owe a much, much smaller amount than I was charged. I have now been waiting TWO MONTHS for the refund and was told it could take THREE MONTHS for a refund. That is completely ridiculous.
