I’ve had some bad experiences and a couple good experiences throughout the years at this emergency room but last week took the cake. Was in on Thursday night and the doctor admitted me. Then apparently there were no beds in the hospital for me so I was left ALONE, in pain, all night with no pillow, waiting thinking I was getting admitted. At one point I needed to use the restroom and the nurse looked annoyed at me when I asked for help and then didn’t help me. Unbelievable experience. From the young lady who checked me in to each and every person who made contact with me, treated me as someone special. Fabulous experience.
Rating due to the treatment practices for veterans. As a cancer patient receiving approximately 90% of my care through VA Community Care, I undergo frequent scans and have never experienced this issue with another hospital or stand alone radiology center. Despite providing a valid VA authorization number, The hospital demanded additional preauthorization and stated that I would have to use Medicare or I would not be seen. Exceptional care in all respects. Care providers and Team Members were all outstanding.
The emergency staff was very fast with pain release . The day nurse was not qualified to be an intensive care, nurse. I would know, I am a respiratory therapist for many, many years. She question why they were doing a CT scan again and MRI for my ankle ( when they rule out no broken bones) I had to inform her of the reasons( ct - for Hairline fractures and the MRI for soft tissue) she should know this.
