The staff and doctors are great. Couldn't ask for better. Unfortunately the center that they use (Lone Star Endoscopy) have required us to pay up front. Then they charge again after the procedure and it takes me a month to get my money back. If they do this to everyone, seems illegal to me. They say they "have to do it that way". BS. Unfortunately, now I have to leave Dr Holt at CDDC (a doctor I really like!) go find a doctor that uses another facility.
I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants (TDDC) and Lone Star Endoscopy regarding my first colonoscopy. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), initial screening colonoscopies for adults over 45 should be fully covered with no out-of-pocket costs. However, TDDC incorrectly coded my procedure as diagnostic instead of preventive, resulting in an outrageous $2,000 bill from Lone Star Endoscopy—a facility in which their physicians have a financial stake.
