My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Hergenroeder today. After reading some of the comments below I felt I should comment. Texas Children’s Hospital is an academic teaching hospital and with that you will see medical students and residents. This is how future doctors get training. Being seen at an academic teaching hospital gives you one of the best doctors who is up to date on current research and treatment plans for your child’s medical needs. I simply cannot understand why anyone would leave bad reviews for Dr Hergenroeder. Him and his team were amazing and thorough. He seems to love children and interacted with my daughter quite well! My daughter and I both felt most comfortable in his office and he took time showing us the xrays and explaining what he saw. A big thank you to Dr Hergenroeder and his wonderful team.
I cannot even fully explain how terrible my son's experience at this office was. Dr. Hergenroeder was dismissive, pushy, and rude. He showed a complete disregard for my son's food allergies, and the whole appointment seemed like a scare tactic to try to funnel patients into an in-patient program. Rather than addressing the patient, he exclusively talks to the parent. That is entirely unacceptable. Teenagers expect to be treated like human beings. The doctor and staff were very nice. That's where it ends. Took my son in for shoulder pain and were billed $422 for the office visit, $938 for x-rays and $78 for a radiologist to read the report which is ridiculous because the doctor read the reports for us in his office. The other problem is there are too many medical students and there is a real lack of communication between everyone.
