Felipe Mata, the owner of Teresa's Mexican Restaurant, is originally from the small town of San José de la Paz in the Mexican state of Jalisco. He immigrated to Atlanta, Georgia at age 13 in search of the American dream. When he arrived, he received a job as a dishwasher. Throughout the years, he worked his way up to becoming a cook, and then a manager. During these years he met his now wife, Teresa.

Couple of weeks back on a Friday evening I visited Teresa's, it was full and I have to wait for more than 30 minutes to get my seating. I tried the veg Fajitas and it was OK, the hot vegetables are served with lot of oil in it. I enjoyed the chips and hot salsa.
Extremely disappointing – Drinks are premixed - margaritas have little/no tequila in them (@ $8 each). Waiter refused to do anything about them when we complained. Not just me - as we were leaving I heard another couple telling their waiter the same thing. Plate and rice/beans were hot - but my burrito was only room temperature. Would suggest El Loro in Burnsville instead. Same menu, but food and drinks are MUCH better.
Yummy Mexican Food – Being from the south and having Latin family members I have had great Mexican food in my day, when I moved here to Minnesota I did not enjoy the Mexican fair that I was given, that is until now. WOW Teresa's knows how to cook and to make you feel at home. The wait staff is fast and effecient and that only pales to the wonderful food choices. I can not even give you a favorite because I love it all.
Some of the best Tex-Mex in Minnesota – Having live in the South most of my life, it was hard coming here and not having many good selections for Tex-Mex. Here is a great place. Good food, great margaritas, quick/friendly service and great prices. You get hot chips and salsa when seated. This being my favorite Mexican place in minnesota, I have been probably 50 times and only once or twice has it not met my expectations. Authentic, Tasty, Friendly, Affordable and Fast! – I could (and probably should) pepper this review with all sorts of positive superlatives. In short, we've found a Mexican treasure in Lakeville. My family has been enjoying Teresa's frequently for two years. We've never been disappointed withour meals, even though we go out of our way to try something new on the menu. A place for "real" Mexican food! – Like I mentioned in another review, I?m a food snob and new to the area. But when it comes to Mexican, I am especially critical.
