Oh Please......... – I was in the mood for Mexican food really bad and my husband and I were driving by so we decided to go there...this place is soooooooo NOISY...and the food is soooooo not REAL MEXICAN FOOD...we ordered Quesadillas as appetiizers and got these empanadas with cheese in them...thats not authentic MEXICAN...this place seems like is own by Americans and has Mexican waiters to mask the fact that its not authentic....dont get me wrong...the food is not bad...but its not the place to go if you want some real aut... read more
Amazing Mexican food – I live very far from this Tequila Sunrise. I say "this", because the other one in Astoria (much closer to my home) I avoid like the plague, but there is a world of difference with this little heaven. Unlike the Astoria one, the mood and decor of this restaurant is very romantic, and for whatever reason, the food is way superior to any other Mexican I have tried anywhere else. SWINGING SINGLES/SANGRIA/MARGHARITA HEAVEN/ – This is really two places--an excellent singles bar scene serving hallucinagenic margharitas, and a fine Mexican restaurant complete with strolling Mariachi band. At the bar---get there early because it fills up fast with the over 30 singles of Bayside (the divorce capital of the western world). Great drinks, excellent chips and salsa. service was sloow – I recommend making reservations so you don't have to wait so long. When I stepped in no one was standing there to greet us until a few minutes later a guy in a suit stepped up. I loved the atmosphere and the decorations were great. The only part I didn't like was the service. It took them more than an hr to get the food to us. I had to hail them down in order to get drinks but otherwise its a great place for a bday celebration!
Great Mexican Restaraunt. – Good Food - Guacamole made tableside, Great Chicken on a skewer, great sangria, excellent margaritas. If you go in a group, get the margaritas by the pitcher ... I like to mix the regular with a flavor - it cuts the sweetness of the flavored margarita. One dollar per person is added to the check when the mariachi band plays. The band really adds to the atmosphere. Reservatios help for big groups or on the weekend.
